Vintage Restoration

We love to restore old neon signs! Neon is still made exactly the same way as when it was first developed. The exception is modern, inexpensive, mass produced signs that use tubes with a color that is painted on (and flakes off!!) instead of using a more expensive colored tube. Also, cheap transformers with short life spans are used to keep costs down.

At Custom Neon, we NEVER use cheap glass or “throw away” transformers on any of our work. And we love vintage signs precisely because they present the heyday of neon, when only quality materials were used and designs were innovative. They are, in a word, cool.

We work on many small auto and beer signs, as well as huge one of a kind signs that were for storefronts, drive-ins, etc.
